Safety is a top priority for Bison and is a core component of our DNA. 
Bison has been recognized with some of North America's most coveted awards, handed out by independent third parties who measure business innovation, road and operational safety and environmental sustainability.

Technology

Bison leverages many technological tools to help improve our safety record and keep safety at the forefront of everything we do. 

These technologies include tractor speed limiters, GPS, collision avoidance systems, driver behaviour monitoring and more. Together, these tools help Bison spot areas of improvement, keeping Drivers and those they share the road with safe. 

Training

Bison is proud of our Driver Development Program, which sees Professional Drivers with varying levels of experience join and be trained by a group of handpicked Bison Drivers to ensure that whenever they get behind the wheel, they live up to the reputation that comes with the Bison name. 

Our safety training doesn't stop with Drivers but extends to our entire business, from our technicians and warehouse staff to our office employees. 

Support

Part of Bison's success with safety is due to the support system available for Drivers and Staff. This system gives our Professional Drivers the right-to-decide, giving them the ability to choose whether to continue their trip when facing unfavourable weather conditions, fatigue, and personal matters.  

Moreover, Bison builds extra time into every trip it plans to ensure that Drivers do not feel the need to rush, allowing them to make better decisions on and off the road. Bison also supports Driver safety by providing in-house maintenance facilities and a mobile technician unit designed to keep tractors and trailers in tip-top shape.
